There is a difference between quality, loving pet care
and simply "warehousing" pets. We recognize the need for
each dog, cat, and bird left in our care to receive as much personalized
attention as possible. Our multiple daily exercising ensures that
every dog is played with at least 3 times per day, and sometimes are
handled as many as 10 times daily. In addition to the loving
attention paid to them during exercise periods, the dogs and cats receive
plenty of petting and hugs during feeding and snack times. We use a hospital grade disinfectant. All water bowls are stainless
steel and are sanitized daily. Meals are served in disposable,
sanitary cardboard bowls. Our pet "rooms" are sanitized a minimum of
twice daily. The outdoor exercise patios are sanitized after each
pet is taken back to his or her "room".
KEN
MILLER, Owner Our superior pet care facility is owned & managed by Ken Miller, who has been lovingly boarding dogs in the
Atlanta area for over 34 years, and started training dogs over 50 years ago. Ken has been serving the Atlanta area's pet resort and
obedience training needs since 1978. Ken has been training dogs for 40
years. Ken has known
that he would make a profession of caring for and training dogs since his pre-school days.
Ken has also volunteered his
professional disc jockey skills and equipment to local animal related
charities for many years. His favorite charities are Canine Assistants,
Canine Companions for Independence, Noah's Ark, Ahimsa House, Atlanta Humane Society, Humane Society of Forsyth County and Georgia SPCA.
During only
two years of AKC obedience competition, Ken's dogs were awarded 31 high-in-trial awards,
over 100 first place awards, 5 Dog World Awards, 15 obedience titles, and an obedience
trial championship. His dogs have competed in 24 states.
In search and rescue operations, Ken's dogs have found missing people, two of whom
would have died from their injuries had they not been discovered in time.In
fugitive apprehension operations, Ken's dogs have been successful in
bringing a number of lawbreakers into custody. In one case, his
bloodhound, "Rufus," backtracked from an arson scene to the work bench
of the arsonist. In another, in Butts County, "Rufus" backtracked from a
murder scene to the home of the alleged perpetrator.
Two of Ken's dogs were
trained drug detection dogs who made a number of drug-related arrests.
Ken started taking his dogs to Atlanta area schools in 1978 to both entertain
and educate the children about alcohol and illegal drug abuse. This
program has resulted in over 20,000 children being signed up to the Fulton
County Sheriff's Reserve Junior Deputies Against Drugs program.
Ken has been
training dogs since 1960. He also began training dogs for law enforcement in 1978. Search
and rescue, fugitive apprehension, and drug detection are his specialty, but he has also
provided full service dogs to various law enforcement agencies.
Ken and his dogs were known as the Jim Dandy© Dogs and appeared in professional sports half-time shows, participated in parades, and worked with children, sponsored by Jim Dandy© Dog Foods. During this period, Ken was responsible for supplying the dogs for all of Jim Dandy©'s commercials and photographs for pictures on the dog food bags. As of 1995, three
of these pictures are still on the Jim Dandy© bags. Ken's golden,"Mambo,"
was also known as "Duke," the talking dog
on the Bush Baked Beans© commercials. Ken has supplied dogs for over 120 TV commercials, plus approximately 35 still shots, for a wide variety of sponsors.

appeared on the David Letterman Show.
Over 10,000 dogs have been through Ken's various training programs.
